Treeleaf Business · Aligned & Automated

Most businesses don't have a systems problem. They have a sequencing problem.

They automate before they understand what they're building. They install tools before the foundation is clear. Then spend months undoing what a better early decision would have prevented. I'm the strategic architect you call when you want to build it right the first time.

Align

Understand what fits before you build anything.

Design

Decide what should exist before you automate it.

Automate

Automate on purpose — and keep it reversible.

The pattern

The technical problems are rarely technical.

Most organisations and coaches don't have a technology problem. They have a sequencing problem. They automate before they've understood what fits. They borrow someone else's system and lock it in before testing it. They move fast in the wrong direction and find out later.

The problems that show up as technical failures are almost always structural. Wrong architecture. Wrong sequencing. The wrong thing built, in the wrong order, for the right reasons.

Twenty years of delivering software and systems taught me one thing that matters more than any tool or framework: technology amplifies whatever you point it at. Point it at something with a real reason to exist, and it makes it bigger and better. Point it at the wrong thing, and you get the wrong thing, faster, and at scale.

AI makes this faster. Not better. Faster. Which means the sequence matters more than ever.

The method

Align Design Automate®

Not a one-time checklist. A loop you run again and again — further along each time.

01 - Align

Understand what fits

Find the real constraint before acting. Map symptoms to root cause. Decide what matters before anything gets built.

02 - Design

Decide what should exist

Architect the structure deliberately. Keep every decision reversible until it earns the right to be permanent.

03 · Automate

Automate on purpose

Build and automate what's proven and worth keeping. Then run the loop again, further along than before.

The Ecosystem

One conviction.Three expressions.

Methodology

Coach Office Club

Design your coaching business before you automate it. Build OS, Alignment Lens, and a community of coaches who build consciously, not by borrowing someone else's defaults.

Infrastructure

My Coach Office

The operational core serious coaches build on. Clients, sessions, contracts, programs, and payments. In one platform. The hub everything else connects to.

Consulting

Work with me

Strategic architecture for your business or system. For those who need more than a platform. A thinking partner who can read the full stack, from business problem to technical decision.

The work behind this

The title said engineer. The work was always architecture.

I trained as a software developer — a bachelor's degree, then 20 years of building. But the work was always broader than the title. For most of my career I've officially been hired as a software engineer, while in practice the work also meant functional analysis, architecture, and strategic advice — alongside the building.

The title said "engineer." The work was always about getting the structure and the sequence right before anything got built.

That gap — between what the role was called and what the work actually required — is the same gap I help businesses close. Most are solving structural problems with technical tools, the same way most organisations hire a developer when what they need is an architect.

Human-centred design entered my work in 2015, when I built a health-tech startup born from a need in my own family. When the user is someone you love, "how the system feels" stops being a design technique. It became the standard I hold every system to since: Schreppie Pools and Wijnhandel Ghoos got that treatment years later. The coaching ecosystem gets it now.

That pattern is what Treeleaf Business is built on. Today it has two expressions — My Coach Office, the platform, and Coach Office Club, the methodology — both grounded in one conviction: a system that fits all sides — you, your clients, your business — is the only kind worth building.

Past the hourly-invoice model — into a business that scales

Structured and launched her first online program; designed the business model, not just the tooling.

"Steven thinks along with you… he brings more than just 'technical' support. He also thinks about what business models suit you, and how you can go beyond the 'hourly invoice' model. I just had to say what I had in mind and he made it possible."

Silvia Derom · Creatieve Generalist

In-depth analysis that gets to the core — fast

Strategy day plus ongoing follow-up; deep questioning to find the real problem.

"Through his in-depth questioning and analysis, he quickly gets to the core of the matter… he likes to think along actively and provides practical tools to achieve concrete results. Even after the strategy day, you can count on him for follow-up."

Peter & Veerle · Family Dynamics

Not a standard product — a system that fit her

Personal, intuitive strategic advice tailored to her strengths.

"He knows very intuitively how to sense where the needs and strengths lie, which I myself did not always notice… He doesn't just deliver a standard product. Steven is someone who thinks and takes action at the same time."

Katrien Peters · Child & Career Coach

From scattered strengths to a clear focus

Strengths-based positioning and focus for a psychologist's practice.

"Steven helped me find my strengths and how to use them in my business. He gave me a clear focus… His strength lies in the combination of empathy and out-of-the-box thinking."

Sandy Van De Sande · Psychologist

Start with a diagnosis

Not sure what to build first?Find out where you stand.

The Growth Scan is a structured diagnostic that surfaces your real constraint: what to build, in what order, and why. Before you commit time or money to the wrong thing. It's the Align step, on its own: understand what fits, first.

No lead-magnet fluff. A structural readiness read you can act on — whether you work with me or not.

Work with me

When you need more than a platform. Four ways in.

You don't need to build faster. You need to build the right thing, with clarity on your systems, your positioning, and the order to build in. That's the whole of my consulting work. How deep we go is up to you.

Whether it's one stuck system or the whole architecture, whether it's how the business runs or how you explain it. The work is the same underneath: get clear before you commit, and keep it reversible. The four entry points below are that work, at four depths.
